Step 1: Apply online & pay the $150 application fee.
Step 2: Submit your documents.
At the end of the application, you will have the opportunity to submit your documents. If you do not have your documents at that time, it is okay. You can submit them later. Here is a list of the documents needed.
- a copy of your passport data page
- a copy of a bank statement showing that you have at least 5,495 USD for each 9-week session at Agape that you would like to study. It is helpful if you include the balance of your account in American dollars (USD).
- a sponsor letter – If a sponsor will be paying for all or part of your fees, we will need a sponsor letter from them. Please contact us at info@aeliusa.com for an example letter.
When you have successfully completed steps 1-2 above, you should receive your form I-20 and acceptance letter from Agape within 5-7 business days.
Step 3: Schedule your visa interview appointment.
Once you have received your I-20 form, you must apply for a student visa (DS-160, $185) and make an interview appointment at a U.S. embassy or consulate. It is very important to schedule an interview as soon as possible, because the wait time can be several weeks or even months. You can find instructions to schedule an appointment on the U.S. embassy website.
Important: When you go to the embassy or consulate, please take all of the documents that you sent Agape, as well as any other documents that you believe will be helpful to show the interviewer.
Step 4: Pay the SEVIS fee.
All students who want to enter the United States with a student (F-1) visa must remember to pay the SEVIS I-901 fee ($350 USD) at least three business days before going to their visa interview. You can find more information about the SEVIS fee by clicking this link. Each student must pay this fee directly to SEVIS. Agape will not accept any money from students for it.
